As in the past, The Foundation fundraiser is scheduled for a display of incredible vintage war planes and other WWII era vehicles. The event starts with the presentation of the colors and a recognition of all of branches of the service. A catered buffet lunch with the Veterans is served at noon featuring Barb-B-Q and Italian food lines. This will be followed by a rousing patriotic program that includes NFD Highland Guard Bagpipers, Naperville Big Band plus a headline performance of popular and patriotic songs of the era.
Last year’s event had in excess of 1,200 attendees,
including over 100 WWII and Korean Era Veterans who were honored at the event for their dedication and service to our country. Net proceeds from that event and all previous five fundraisers have been donated to Honor Flight Chicago. To date, The Foundation has donated over $240,000 to Honor Flight.
